  1. 01 Can children stay at Sensui?
    Sensui welcomes guests aged 13 and over.

    Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children aged 12 or younger.

    We hope to offer our guests a place where they can step away from everyday life and spend unhurried time with someone important to them.

    Relaxing together in the hot springs.

    Sharing a delicious meal.

    Reading quietly in our library.

    There are no televisions in our guest rooms, as we value creating an environment where guests can disconnect from everyday distractions and simply enjoy their time together.

    We hope couples and those celebrating special occasions will enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay with us.

  2. 02 How many guests can stay together at Sensui?
    At Sensui, we accommodate a maximum of four guests per group.

    Even when booking multiple rooms, the total number of guests traveling together as one group is limited to four. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate groups of five or more.

    Sensui is a small ryokan with only 13 guest rooms. We hope our guests can spend their stay enjoying peaceful, unhurried time with the people who matter to them.

    For this reason, Sensui is best suited to smaller groups, such as couples, married couples, or friends traveling together.

  3. 03 Can I stay at Sensui by myself?
    Yes. Solo travelers are welcome at Sensui.

    However, from November through March, solo stays are available only to guests who have stayed at Sensui at least once before.

    During your stay, you can enjoy the hot springs, read quietly in our library, or explore Kinosaki Onsen at your own pace.

    Dinner and breakfast are served at our restaurant, Siki. Counter seating is also available, making it comfortable for guests dining on their own.

    We hope you will enjoy some peaceful time for yourself, away from the pace of everyday life.
  4. 04 Can I stay at Sensui with my pet?
    Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets at Sensui.

    Pets are not permitted in guest rooms or other areas of the ryokan, including the restaurant and private baths.

  1. 01 What payment methods do you accept? Can I pay by credit card?
    We accept cash and credit cards.

    The following credit cards are accepted:

    UFJ, NICOS, VISA, JCB and Mastercard.

    Please note that credit card payment may not be available for certain accommodation plans or booking methods. Please check the payment conditions for your selected plan when making your reservation.
  2. 02 What cashless payment methods do you accept?
    We accept PayPay as a cashless payment method.

    Credit cards are also accepted. Please see “What payment methods do you accept?

    Can I pay by credit card?” above for details.
  3. 03 What is your cancellation policy?
    The following cancellation fees apply:

    - 7 to 2 days before arrival: 20% of the accommodation fee
    - 1 day before arrival: 50%
    - On the day of arrival (morning): 70%
    - On the day of arrival (afternoon): 100%
    - No-show without notice: 100%

    As a general rule, cancellation fees apply according to the above policy even in the event of unexpected changes to your plans or illness.

    Please note that cancellation policies may vary depending on the accommodation plan or booking website. Please check the cancellation policy shown at the time of booking.

    For guests who are concerned about unexpected cancellations, cancellation insurance is also available to purchase from the reservation confirmation page.
  1. 01 Where are dinner and breakfast served? Is in-room dining available?
    Dinner and breakfast are served at our restaurant, Siki.

    We do not offer in-room dining.

    We would like our guests to relax in their rooms and enjoy their meals at the restaurant, where each dish can be served freshly prepared and at its best.

    At our counter seats, guests can also enjoy watching the chef prepare and finish dishes in front of them.

  2. 02 What time are dinner and breakfast served?
    Dinner times vary depending on the season.

    April to October
    6:00 PM (start) – 8:30 PM (end)

    November to March
    5:00 PM (start) – 7:00 PM (end)
    or
    7:30 PM (start) – 9:30 PM (end)

    Please note that we may not always be able to accommodate your preferred dinner time, depending on availability.

    Breakfast is served at either 8:00 AM or 8:45 AM.

    We will ask for your preferred breakfast time when you check in. If you already have a preference, you are also welcome to let us know when making your reservation.
  3. 03 I have a food allergy. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
    If you have any food allergies, please contact us at least three days before your stay.

    We will make adjustments wherever possible depending on the ingredients involved and the nature of your allergy.

    However, please note that we may not be able to completely eliminate certain allergens contained in seasonings or other ingredients, such as wheat or soy.

    Our meals are also prepared in the same kitchen using shared cooking equipment, so we cannot guarantee the complete prevention of cross-contact.

    If you have a severe allergy or may experience symptoms from even trace amounts of an allergen, please consult your doctor before traveling and contact us in advance so that we can discuss whether we are able to accommodate your needs safely.
  4. 04 Can you accommodate vegetarian or vegan diets?
    Our cuisine is based on Japanese cooking and makes extensive use of fish, seafood, and fish-based dashi broth.

    For this reason, if you are unable to eat fish, seafood, or fish-based dashi, we are unfortunately unable to provide a meal that meets our usual dining standards. We are also unable to accommodate vegan meals.

    If you can eat fish, seafood, and fish-based dashi but avoid certain other
    ingredients, we may be able to make adjustments depending on your dietary requirements.

    Please contact us before making your reservation and let us know specifically which ingredients you are unable to eat.
  1. 01 Is there an elevator at Sensui?
    No. Sensui does not have an elevator.

    Guest rooms are located on the second and third floors, and stairs are required to access the guest rooms, restaurant, and private baths.

    If you have difficulty using stairs or have concerns about mobility, please let us know when making your reservation or contact us in advance.

    Whenever possible, we will arrange a room on the second floor. However, some room types are located only on the third floor, and depending on availability, we may not be able to guarantee a second-floor room.

    Our staff will be happy to assist you with your luggage.

  2. 02 Are there televisions in the guest rooms?
    No. There are no televisions in any of our guest rooms.

    At Sensui, we hope our guests can step away from the constant flow of information in everyday life and spend unhurried time with someone important to them.

    Relaxing together in the hot springs, sharing a delicious meal, or simply enjoying a quiet conversation at night—these are the moments we hope you will experience during your stay.

    You may also enjoy strolling through Kinosaki Onsen, visiting the public bathhouses, reading a book, or simply spending time together at your own pace.

  3. 03 Are the guest rooms and the ryokan non-smoking?
    Yes. All guest rooms and indoor areas at Sensui are non-smoking.

    There is no designated smoking area inside the ryokan or on the property.

    If you smoke outdoors, we kindly ask that you be considerate of people and properties nearby and bring your own portable ashtray.

    We value maintaining a comfortable environment for guests who may be sensitive to tobacco smoke or odors.
  4. 04 What amenities are provided in the guest rooms?
    The following amenities are provided in our guest rooms:

    - Bath towels
    - Hand towels
    - Toothbrushes
    - Yukata
    - Tabi-style socks
    - Bath baskets

    To help reduce plastic waste, razors and combs are not provided. Please bring your own if needed.
    Toner, lotion, and makeup remover are available in our private bath areas.
  5. 05 Is there anything I should bring with me for my stay?
    Bath towels, hand towels, toothbrushes, yukata, tabi-style socks, and bath baskets are provided in your guest room.

    Toner, lotion, and makeup remover are also available in our private bath areas.

    During your stay, you are welcome to wear your yukata and take your bath basket with you when visiting Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses or strolling through the town.

    As razors and combs are not provided, please bring your own if needed. We also recommend bringing any personal toiletries or skincare products that you normally use.
  6. 06 Is Wi-Fi available at Sensui?
    Yes. Wi-Fi is available at Sensui.
  7. 07 What kind of books are available in the library?
    Sensui’s library is a space created around the theme of “Mukiau” — taking time to face and reflect on something with care.

    The books were selected by book director Yoshitaka Haba and are arranged around six themes of “Mukiau,” including:

    - Facing your body
    - Facing yourself
    - Facing food

    We hope you will enjoy discovering a book that you might only encounter while traveling, or one that you may not normally choose in your everyday life.

    Books from the library may be enjoyed not only in the library itself, but also in your guest room, at the reception area, or anywhere else within the ryokan where you feel comfortable reading.

  8. 08 Does each guest room have a private toilet?
    Yes. Every guest room at Sensui has its own private toilet.

    You do not need to use a shared toilet outside your room.

    Please note that the hot spring baths are located separately from the guest rooms and are available as private baths for our staying guests.
  1. 01 What are the check-in hours at Sensui?
    Check-in is available from 3:00 PM.

    If your reservation includes dinner, please check in by 5:00 PM. If you expect to arrive later than 5:00 PM, please contact us in advance.

    For guests staying on a plan without dinner, the latest check-in time is 8:00 PM.
  2. 02 What time is check-out?
    Check-out is by 11:00 AM.
  3. 03 Can you store my luggage before check-in?
    Yes. We are happy to store your luggage before check-in.

    Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, but you are welcome to leave your luggage with us earlier and enjoy exploring Kinosaki Onsen before your stay.
  4. 04 Can I send my luggage to Sensui before my stay?
    Yes. You may send your luggage to Sensui in advance.

    However, we are unable to receive deliveries on days when the ryokan is closed.

    Please contact us before sending your luggage so that we can confirm a suitable delivery date.
  5. 05 Can you store my luggage after check-out?
    Yes. We can store your luggage until 2:00 PM after check-out.

    However, luggage storage is not available on days when the ryokan is closed.

    If we are unable to store your luggage, please use the coin lockers near Kinosaki Onsen Station or other luggage storage facilities in the area.
  1. 01 Is there a shuttle service from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station to Sensui?
    Sensui does not operate its own shuttle service.

    However, a free check-in bus operated by the Kinosaki Onsen Ryokan Association runs from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station in coordination with the arrival times of limited express trains.

    When boarding the bus, please tell the staff that you are staying at Sensui, and they will drop you off near the ryokan.

    Please note that the check-in bus does not operate after 6:00 PM and is available only for transportation from Kinosaki Onsen Station to participating ryokan.

    Sensui is approximately 600 meters, or a 7-minute walk, from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station. You can also enjoy a pleasant walk through the onsen town on your way to the ryokan.
  2. 02 Is parking available at Sensui?
    Yes. Parking is available for guests staying at Sensui.

    When you arrive by car, please first drive to the entrance of the ryokan. Our staff will guide you to the parking area.

    Vehicles are parked one behind another, and we may ask you to leave your car key with us. Once your vehicle has been parked, you will generally not be able to take it out again until check-out.

    For guests staying for two or more nights, you may use your car during the day from the second day of your stay. Please let our staff know in advance if you plan to do so.
  3. 03 Can I use the parking area before check-in or after check-out?
    Before check-in, parking is available from 2:00 PM.

    After check-out, parking availability depends on how busy the parking area is that day. If parking is available, you may leave your car with us until 12:00 noon.

    As vehicles are parked one behind another, we may not be able to accommodate parking after check-out if it would affect other guests.

    Please ask our staff on the day of your departure.
  4. 04 Can I park a large vehicle at Sensui?
    Depending on the size of your vehicle, we may be able to accommodate it in our parking area.

    As the road in front of Sensui is narrow, please contact us in advance if you are traveling in a large vehicle or are concerned about access.

    If your vehicle cannot be accommodated in our parking area, we will direct you to a parking facility in Kinosaki Onsen. In this case, parking fees will be at your own expense.
  5. 05 Do I need winter tires when driving to Kinosaki Onsen in winter?
    If you are traveling to Kinosaki Onsen by car during winter, please make sure your vehicle is equipped with winter tires (studless snow tires).

    Snowfall and icy road conditions can occur in and around Kinosaki Onsen during winter, and winter tire restrictions may also be in effect on expressways and other roads.

    For your safety, please do not travel to Kinosaki Onsen in winter with standard summer tires.
    We also recommend checking the latest weather forecast and road conditions before your journey.
  1. 01 What private baths are available at Sensui?
    Sensui has three private baths: Musu-no-Yu, Tou-no-Yu, and Ki-no-Yu.

    All of our baths are private, allowing you to enjoy the hot spring with your partner or travel companion without sharing the space with other guests.

    Musu-no-Yu also features a sauna, cold bath, and outdoor relaxation area.
  2. 02 Do I need to make a reservation for the private baths?
    Reservations are not required for Tou-no-Yu and Ki-no-Yu.

    You may use either bath when it is available.

    QR codes are provided at the reception area and in the guest rooms, allowing you to check the current availability of the baths on your smartphone.

    Please note that checking the availability via the QR code does not reserve the bath.
    Musu-no-Yu, our private bath with sauna, requires an advance reservation.
  3. 03 How can I reserve Musu-no-Yu, the private bath with sauna?
    Musu-no-Yu is available by advance reservation for 90 minutes at ¥5,500 (tax included).

    The available time slots are:

    - 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
    - 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
    - 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
    - 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM

    Musu-no-Yu features a sauna, cold bath, and outdoor relaxation area. The sauna also offers self-löyly, allowing you to pour water over the heated sauna stones yourself.

    The 2:00 PM session may be used before check-in begins at 3:00 PM. If you reserve this session, we can store your luggage while you enjoy the bath, and you can check in afterward.
  4. 04 Can I use the hot springs if I have a tattoo?
    Yes. Guests with tattoos are welcome to use Sensui’s private baths.

    You do not need to cover your tattoos when using our private baths.

    Guests with tattoos may also use the public bathhouses (sotoyu) in Kinosaki Onsen, so you can enjoy visiting the different hot springs around town during your stay.
  1. 01 Can I enjoy the public bathhouses in Kinosaki Onsen during my stay?
    Yes. Kinosaki Onsen has seven public bathhouses, known as “sotoyu,” located throughout the town.

    Guests staying at Sensui receive a Sotoyu Pass, which is valid from 2:00 PM on the day of arrival until 1:00 PM the following day. During this time, you may visit any of the public bathhouses that are open as many times as you like.

    Guests with tattoos are also welcome to use Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses.
    During your stay at Sensui, you are welcome to wear your yukata and take your bath basket and towels with you when visiting the public bathhouses.

    Please note that Sensui’s yukata, bath baskets, and towels may only be used during your stay. If you visit a public bathhouse after checking out, please bring your own towel and other necessary items.

    Opening hours and closing days vary by bathhouse, so we recommend checking the latest information before visiting.

  2. 02 How far are Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses from Sensui?
    All seven public bathhouses are within walking distance of Sensui.

    Approximate walking times from Sensui are:

    - Yanagi-yu: 2 minutes
    - Jizo-yu: 3 minutes
    - Ichi-no-yu: 3 minutes
    - Gosho-no-yu: 6 minutes
    - Satono-yu: 7 minutes
    - Mandara-yu: 9 minutes
    - Kono-yu: 11 minutes

    One of the pleasures of staying in Kinosaki Onsen is walking through the town in your yukata and choosing which bathhouse to visit next.

    Opening hours and closing days vary by bathhouse, so please check the latest information before visiting.
  3. 03 Can I wear a yukata when visiting the public bathhouses?
    Yes. During your stay at Sensui, you are welcome to wear your yukata when visiting Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses and strolling through the town.

    Walking through the onsen town in a yukata is one of the special experiences of staying in Kinosaki Onsen.

    Enjoy the willow-lined streets along the Otani River and the changing scenery of each season as you make your way from one public bathhouse to another.

    Please note that Sensui’s yukata may only be used during your stay.

  4. 04 What should I bring when visiting the public bathhouses?
    During your stay, you may take Sensui’s yukata, bath basket, bath towel, and hand towel with you when visiting Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses.

    Each public bathhouse provides rinse-in shampoo and body soap, so you do not need to bring these basic bathing items.

    If you prefer to use separate shampoo and conditioner, or your own facial cleanser or skincare products, please bring them with you.

    Please note that Sensui’s yukata, bath basket, and towels may only be used during your stay. If you use your Sotoyu Pass after checking out, please bring your own towel and any other items you may need.

  5. 05 Can I use Sensui’s private baths and Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses if I have a tattoo?
    Yes. Guests with tattoos are welcome to use both Sensui’s private baths and Kinosaki Onsen’s public bathhouses (sotoyu).

    You do not need to cover your tattoos when using Sensui’s private baths or the public bathhouses in Kinosaki Onsen.

    You can enjoy both Sensui’s private hot springs and public bathhouse hopping around the town during your stay.
